On February 6 2018 the Royal Canadian Mint released the 1 Kilo 99.99% pure gold – The Sugar Maple coin. This $2,500 hand-polished pure gold coin was struck up to four times to ensure its beauty and quality. The coin features with rocks of different sizes along with a huge-sized sugar maple leaf at the centre.
The obverse of this huge coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt and The legend ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA also engraved. The reverse designed by artist Maurade Baynton and shows a large-sized sugar maple leaf has been dropped onto the surface of the water, where the leaf’s slightly curled edges give it a life-like appearance while ensuring an unhindered view of every details of the maple leaf.
