Royal Australian Mint released the 2017 $5 Coloured Fine Silver Proof Triangular Coin
The Royal Australian Mint released the 2017 $5 Coloured Fine Silver Proof Triangular Coin – “Front Lines Angels,” to celebrate International Nurses Day. The coin design inspired by the stunning architecture of the Australian War Memorial’s Hall of Memory.
This will be the fourth triangular coin to be released by the Royal Australian Mint in the Official Anzac Centenary Coin Program.The coin issued in memory of the brave efforts taken by service nurses in Australian military history and recognise those who played an important role in caring for the sick and wounded during those times. It also appreciates all the nurses around the globe who are passionate and dedicated to their work.
International Nurses Day is celebrated on 12th May every year. The current year these is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead, Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals”. The image on the face of the coin shows one of the stained glass artworks at the Australian War Memorial, originally designed by Napier Waller, a Victorian artist who lost his right arm during that WWI. 2017 $5 Coloured Fine Silver Proof Triangular Coin costs $90 each.
