The Perth Mint released the first coin of the “Warfare” Series – 2018 Roman Legion 2 oz Silver Antiqued High Relief Rimless Coin. This coin features battle scene between ancient Roman legionnaires and Gallic tribesmen. The Warfare series is the new three-coin series depicting legendary combative forces- Romans, Vikings and the Cavalry. The second coin Vikings going to release in June 2018 Cavalry in September 2018. Produced by The Perth Mint, from 2 oz of 99.99% pure silver, the 2018 Roman Legion Rimless Silver Coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu with a face value of $2.

The reverse of the coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth by Ian Rank-Broadley, with his initials struck beneath her image. Around the edge reads ELIZABETH II, 2 DOLLARS, TUVALU, 2018, and 2 oz 9999 Ag. The obverse of this high relief silver 2 dollar Proof coin features an incredible panoramic battle scene. A group of Roman legionaries in brutal combat with Gallic tribesmen, with two cavalrymen and also features an elephant and an eagle in the background. The design also includes The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mint mark.

This 2 ounce rimless silver coin is accompanied by a pair of free viewing goggles, for a three-dimensional 360 degree view of the battle represented on the coin. Only the first coin in the series comes with free 3D goggles, after this the goggles will not be available for purchase.
