The new 2018 Australia’s Natural Wonder – Great Barrier Reef 5oz Silver Coin has released by the Australian coin firm Downies, in conjunction with Niue. This .999 fine proof silver $10 coin is an Official legal tender of Niue and dedicated to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, one of the world’s great natural wonders. This beautiful coin truck with Proof quality and with selective 24-carat gold plating. The 2018 Niue $10 high relief silver coin weighs 5oz (155.5 grams) and a diameter of 65mm. This is an official 2018 World Money Fair release, and is presented with an official WMF outer sleeve.

Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system located off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and its composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for an area of approximately 348,700 square kilometers. he Great Barrier Reef supports a diversity of life, including many vanishing species, some of which may be endemic to the reef system and was selected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.

The reverse of the coin features different sea species that can be found in the Great Barrier Reef with selective 24-karat gold plating – green sea turtle, angelfish, hammerhead shark, starfish (sea star), grouper, octopus, manta ray, nautilus, lionfish, and clownfish. The inscriptions- the name of the coin “GREAT BARRIER REEF” and “AUSTRALIA’S NATURAL WONDER” also can be found on the coin reverse. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The obverse also features the issuing country “NIUE”, year “2018”, Queens name, “ELIZABETH II” along with the face value “TEN DOLLARS” and the coin weight and purity “5OZ 999 SILVER”. This ultra high relief 5 ounce silver coin having a limited mintage of 500 coins worldwide. The coin is encapsulated inside a polished, solid wood, clamshell-style presentation case lined with black velvet, which is protected by a WMF outer sleeve. All coins comes with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity.
